Project: Watchtower

Location: Gendringen

Project description:

A good example of how to create a new destination from old materials and using as little energy as possible. Environmentally friendly and of added value for the surroundings and for nature. The steel girders of this watchtower had been lying unused for years in a storage building.

Commissioned by the Municipality of Oude IJsselstreek, the Rotterdam design agency OOZE came up with a magnificent new destination for these materials: a colourful staircase with a pavilion that offers great views of the beautiful nature reserve of Engbergen and the Oude IJssel.

Tiggelovend-Kok was asked to regenerate this material and processed the steel to produce a solid structure and placed the watchtower at its final destination.

Certifications

Fortunately, high demands are placed on quality and safety. Our steel workers have, of course, the required qualifications, for example, VCA (Safety, Health and Environment checklist Contractors), elevated work platform and fork-lift truck certificates. To guarantee the quality of our organisation, we are also ISO 9001 certified and our structural and welding quality is demonstrated by the fact that we are accredited to CE Standard EN 1090 execution class.
